Cabasson Beach in Bormes-les-Mimosas

This is my favourite beach in the region because 1) there is lifeguard on duty, 2) there are showers and public toilets within easy reach and 3) there is a reasonably priced restaurant (La Paillotte) where you can buy sandwiches to take-away or pizzas and salads for sit-down (remember to book if you are coming for lunch). The parking costs 8 euros for a car but it’s on private property that is well looked after so that makes sense.  It takes about 1hr 30 minutes from Cotignac by car. Best Beaches from Cotignac

Tired of swimming pools, lake, rivers, and natural lidos? Of course you have the beach option when staying in Cotignac. You just have to be willing to drive between an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes. Our favourites are Estagnol and Cabasson (Fort Bregançon) in Bormes-les-Mimosas, as they are shallow for what seems like miles into the sea and are really kid-friendly. Bauduen beach fun

From Cotignac, this place is just a 35 mins drive away. It’s Lac St Croix at its best – the beach pier at Bauduen (just at the village entrance) has great pedalos and paddle boards for rent at 17 and 8 euros per hour. When there is no wind and the lake is smooth, this equipment is truly fun to rent and it’s fun for the whole family! There are little nooks and pretty places to paddle to, swimming is also great here, and there’s never a lack of sunshine in Provence, so it’s ideal for the summer.  Try Café du Midi (just into the village, on your right on a terrace up the stairs passed the post office) for a great lunch (I had their veal with ceppe mushroom sauce, it was divine) just bring cash or a French bank cheque as they do not accept credit cards. But they do have the most amazing tasting ice cream ever!! – 🙂 Susana
