There are a lot of hiking trails around the Gorges du Verdon, but this one is by far the most beautiful and closest to the aqua blue waters of the “gorges”. There are several circuits (loops) but the shortest is about 3 hours of hiking. If you want to do less walking simply do a return-trip from the West side of the little bridge that goes over the mouth of the gorge that leads to the river where kayacks can be rented and swimming is alowed (warning: very cold water!!). The one we took in the photos was an easy 45 minutes walk of going and turning around after 20 minutes. We do not recommend this walk for those people who fear heights, however!
Quinson also has a well-known Prehistoric Museum (more info here: http://www.museeprehistoire.com/accueil.html)and throughout the year school classes make trips to see it. Quinson is an easy (though windy, as in a lot of turns) 20 mins drive from Cotignac: follow signs to Barjols, then head in the direction of Montmeyan instead of turning left towards Barjols, then follow signs to Quinson. You will hit the bridge BEFORE you get into the village of Quinson. There are
also some nice snack cafés just after the bridge on the left hand side for refreshments or ice cream 🙂
